【摘要】:Thisbearingstrengthtestforplasticsisintendedtoapplyinthespecificationofvariousthermoplasticorthermosettingproductsinsheetformwhererivets,bolts,orsimilarfasteningsaretobeusedinjoiningmembersorsections.Italsoisintendedtoapplywhereversheetmaterialsoftheclassesindicatedarerequiredtosustainedgewiseloadsthatareappliedbymeansofpinsorrodsofcircularcrosssectionwhichpiercethesheetperpendiculartothesurface.Thepurposeofthetestistodeterminethebearingstrengthofthematerialandtoshowthebearingstressversusthedeformationofthehole.Theallowabledeformationoftheholeinthematerialshouldbesuchastoproducenoloosenessofjoints.Whileitisaknownfactthathigherstrengthmaterialswillgenerallygivehigherbearingstrengths,thereisnosatisfactorymethodbywhichbearingstrengthmaybeestimatedfromtensileorcompressivepropertiesofthematerial.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,referenceshouldbemadetothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensionsortestingparametersorcombinationthereofcoveredintherelevantASTMmaterialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthoseinthistestmethod.IftherearenorelevantASTMmaterialspecificationsthenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthebearingstrengthofrigidplasticsineithersheetform,moldedform,orinthermosetpultrudedform.ProcedureAisapplicablefortensionloadingandProcedureBforcompressionloading.1.2Testdataobtainedbythistestmethodisrelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothisstandard.
